Readme
This Web Application, called AVODS (Audio/Video On Demand Service),
allows:
- to record audio/video streams from the MBone (Multicast Bone)
using rtpdump.
In order to select medias you need
sdr
to see sessions announcements.
Recorded files are locally stored on our AVODS server.
- to playback these streams, stored into local files by rtpdump,
using rtpplay and the RTP translator rtptrans for hosts which can't reach the MBone.
In order to playback you need the classical audio/video tools such as:
vat,
rat,
fphone,
vic,
rv,
plus eventually
playRTPMPEG
for Mpeg1 layer3 streams, and
VREng for distributed
virtual reality.
- to broadcast these streams towards a sdr-session on the MBone.
- to play others streams such as audio/basic (au format),
mpeg1 (video mpg format, audio mp3 format), midi, quicktime, wav, avi,
rm/rv (realplayer), can also be played by this tool.
In order to play these streams you need some of the following tools:
- Unix:
mpeg_play,
xaudio,
mpg123,
xanim,
timidity++,
rvplayer,
sox...
- Windows:
freeamp,
Quicktime-4,
- MacOS:
Quicktime-4,
Sparkle,
